Co-Founder & Principal
Kristin Tedford is co-founder of BoldEcho. Kristin is dedicated to helping people become more compelling, confident presenters. She is well known for her compassionate, engaging, insightful coaching, and her ability to quickly adapt to the learning style and specific needs of her clients. Her experience spans 30 years and includes successfully preparing presenters for high stake presentations such as keynotes, investor pitches, sales presentations, board presentations, panel discussions and IPO road shows. She has led multiple group workshops and provided 1:1 coaching for executives and their teams at Silicon Valley start-ups to Fortune 500 companies both domestically and internationally. As a founder of her own company, Kristin has a passion for working with entrepreneurs and a special interest in helping other female founders.
Previously, Kristin taught communication courses at the collegiate level and co-authored the book Communication Skills for Collaborative Learning. She earned her BA in Speech Communication from the University of Washington and an MA in Communication Studies from San Jose State University.

Matt Abrahams is co-founder and principal of BoldEcho. Matt is a dedicated, collaborative coach. As a former senior leader in Learning and Development at several software companies, Matt understands the importance of continuing education, especially around communication skills, to help employees at all levels of an organization succeed. In service of this goal, Matt published Speaking Up Without Freaking Out, a book written to help people present and communicate in a more confident manner.
In addition, Matt also lecturers at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business where he teaches Strategic Communication and Effective Virtual Presenting.
Matt earned his BA in Psychology from Stanford and his MA in Communication Studies from the University of California Davis.
As a lead coach at BoldEcho, Karen Williams is passionate about helping leaders communicate authentically and effectively in a variety of business and professional contexts.
Karen’s years of organizational and academic experience enable her to design and deliver successful communication workshops, presentation coaching, and content consulting services. Her expertise includes executive coaching, presentation preparation, team building, group facilitation, and train the trainer. She also held leadership positions in communications, public relations, and marketing.
Karen earned her BA in Marketing from Santa Clara University and her MA in Communication Studies from San Jose State University. She teaches upper-division classes in Persuasive Presentations, Business and Professional Communication, and Interviewing Skills at San Jose State University.
As a lead coach at BoldEcho, Janell Payne brings extensive expertise in high-stakes presentations, group facilitation, team building, and performance to her coaching.
Janell has coached over 1,000 clients in a variety of industries, encouraging experimentation to gain practical, lasting application quickly. Clients love her ability to listen and adapt to their needs in the moment. Janell has extensive understanding of the needs of executives and senior decision makers enabling her to effectively coach those who present to them.
Janell earned her BA in Communication Studies from San Diego State University. She also has an MA in Communication Studies from San Jose State University, where she taught communication courses. Janell’s background includes public relations, television production, and improvisational theater.
As a lead coach at BoldEcho, Amy Furber uses her two decades of experience to help clients learn how structure and strategy positively change the way they present. Amy is adaptable and easily able to help people no matter their topic, or where they are in their speaking journey.
In addition to her executive coaching experience, Amy recently worked with Stanford MBA students coaching them in all areas of communication including: pitching ideas for their startups, classroom participation, leading meetings, and interviewing skills. She is currently piloting an advanced public speaking skills program for presenters for whom English is their second language.
Amy earned her BA in both Speech Communication and French, and her MA in Communication Studies from California State University, Chico.
